Peanut butter is a staple in the homes of all those trying to eat healthy, and still get a bit of PBJ in the mix. But buying it isn’t always the most cost-effective option. If you want to make your own, you will save money and also reduce the number of chemicals. Store-bought peanut butter usually has a lot of preservatives, but if you make it at home you only need one ingredient: peanuts!

– roast them for a few minutes in the oven until they start to smell nice and get a little brown.
– While they are warm, add them to a food processor and buzzzzz it!
– You can leave it on for 2-3 minutes if you like chunky peanut butter, or for 7-10 minutes if you like the smooth kind.
– You don’t need a fancy food processor for this- for the low end ones you just need an extra minute or two. If your processor needs to be used for a maximum of 2-3 minutes at once, you can do this in batches, and blend it for 2 minutes, 5 times, for smooth peanut butter.
Not only will you save money, but you will also have a healthier protein-filled snack.
